Permaset Aqua is the revolutionary, 100% solvent free, water-based ink from Permaset – the leading maker of fabric printing inks in Australia for the last forty years.
While many screen-printers understood the harmful environmental effects of the industry standard Plastisol inks most used, alternatives to this PVC based ink were far from satisfactory. Traditionally, water-based inks have not only been difficult to work with, they also performed poorly with regard to color yield and opacity. Furthermore, these supposedly eco-friendly inks generally contained significant amounts of harmful distillates, requiring other harmful chemicals for processing and clean up.
Printers were stuck in a position of deciding between the performance of Plastisol, or the questionable environmental benefits of a “water-based” ink.
That’s why we were so excited to come across Permaset Aqua. Other than water, Permaset Aqua is 100% solvent free, and passes Oeko-Tex's stringent standards of a class I textile - deemed safe for children under two years of age.
Because of a rigorous pigment selection process, Permaset Aqua has a color yield and brightness that is previously unheard on both light and dark fabrics. And being a water-based ink, Permaset Aqua is not only super soft to the touch, but it is also suprisingly durable. In some test cases actually protecting the fabric underneath the print, where exposed garment fibers have shown wear.
At EcoPrintworks, we’ve made a commitment to our workers health, and the overall impact our products have on the earth. We are thankful that Permaset helps us keep that commitment.
